Warranty Term and Right Start Period

The warranty term covers manufacturing defects and is offered to the homeowner who first had the shingles installed on the house they use as their primary residence. "Lifetime" coverage is in effect as long as you, the original owner, own the property where the Malarkey shingles were installed. After the initial right start period shingle values for the purpose of replacement will be prorated, decreasing each month by a certain percentage.

Wind and Enhanced Wind

Both wind warranties protect against damage to shingles from high winds such as shingle blow-off. Wind warranties are in effect for the same duration as the Right Start Periods. The enhanced wind warranty offers protection against higher wind speeds but may require different installation methods or materials.

Algae Resistance

Shingles with Algae Resistance (AR) are warranted against discoloration or staining due to algae growth.
(Prorated after 12 months.)

Transferability

During the Right Start Period, these warranties may be transferred, but only by the original property owner to the first subsequent owner. If the transfer occurs after the Right Start Period, the warranty to the subsequent owner will be limited to two years from the date of the real estate title transfer.
