Shingles

Brands we Recommend

Over the years we have noticed that many shingle manufacturers have begun to cut corners when it comes to making shingles. Certain lines of shingles do not have the same standard of quality as they once did a few years back. Some shingles will even break before they can be applied to the roof.

In terms of brands J. A. Kay Roofing currently recommends Malarkey Shingles for reasons regarding quality. We have noticed that this particular brand of shingles is more flexible and tends to hold granuales better as well. We are in no contract with Malarkey Roofing Products nor have any asociation. We simply recommend this brand because it meets our high standards of quality.

We will however install brands such as GAF or CertainTeed and other brands at the request of the homeowner. Some homeowners want the exact same color as they had previously, while this is usually possible given that the color is still manufactured we will usually recommend a similar color that has better quality if necessary.
